YesJulz White Female Entitlement Knows No Bounds

mm

Published

on

The recent interaction between Scottie Beam, Karen Civil, and YesJulz has made it even more obvious that white female entitlement knows no bounds.

Empowered by a few tap-dancing skin-folk, YesJulz has recently felt it is her place to speak on heavily nuanced Black issues and be the White female savior hip-hop needs. Yawn. Claiming she grew up in a “group home”, Julz Goddard, flaky opportunist and Khaleesi of a great dry weave, feels as if she has both the experience and the depth to discuss the limits of culture and where they intersect. Unfortunately for her, she is defining her experience with blackness by her proximity to suffering and musical affinity, neither of which are on the rubric for this test. To be Black, you have to be Black. Period.

In an interview with Murda Mook, YesJulz went in detail explaining the day “her world fell down.” Birthed from a place of spite, Julz wanted to be petty and let an unfaithful mate know that she’d caught him cheating by snooping through his phone. She planned this reveal during the Rolling Loud festival of 2016, for which she was the host. Blaccent in tow, she says DJ Make Kids from Atlanta offered her a shirt that said “N*ggas Lie A Lot.”

Julz was ignorantly amused and tweeted the photo to her Twitter audience of more than 100K followers asking for approval. “Should she have a seat next to Lexy Panterra?” was the appropriate question. Julz quickly found that she had stepped outside of her lane and was met with immediate valid criticism. However, this did not serve as the teachable moment it was intended to be. Unable to come to terms with the startling realization that she is not that girl, Julz felt inclined to call out people who put her on the spot for obvious culture-vulture behavior, directly naming Karen Civil and Scottie Beam.

Insisting that they are not on the same level and that neither their interests nor goals are aligned, Julz explained why she felt Karen or Scottie held a grudge against her. Citing #WhiteThoughts from Twitter in 2011, Julz shared a tweet that served as the potential ammunition for the digital side-eye.

“#WhiteThoughts : Black women don’t like me because Black men do

Julz completely missed the point that if she was as “down” with the culture as she says she is, she never would have thought to tweet such filth. She then continued to attempt to justify her tweet mislabeling Black women as her enemy instead of her blueprint as “just a joke”. This is what happens when you’re surrounded by people who feed your ego instead of expand your education.

Looping back to why she feels Karen Civil or Scottie Beam have it out for her, Julz mentioned that she was told they believed she didn’t deserve the opportunities that are presented to her. “Putting in the work,” Julz says she has been exhausting herself and building bridges in these hip-hop streets. She credits this work ethic for her quick ascension in the community. However, she is blissfully unaware of the misogynoir and white female privilege that have allowed a mere five years of grinding to pave the stairway to the main stage at Rolling Loud and various hosting opportunities.

It’s amazing how easily she allows herself, as a so-called independent grown woman, to be defended by a Black man who says Black women are annoying while seemingly applauding her for breathing unaided. How soon we forget that there are other harder working, more charismatic personalities that are Black women who deserve to be the face of a quickly gentrifying genre. Instead of just rising to the challenge and presenting opportunities for Black women, who are greatly disenfranchised, who are the most spoken over and disrespected, Julz chose to say “me first.” And now she has the audacity to say she isn’t going to have this argument during Women’s History Month. You tried it. If your work ethic is anything like your propensity for understanding, its no wonder why so many people believe you allegedly slept your way to the top. Don’t throw a stone and hide your hand, baby.

And Now Our Watch Has Ended: Game of Thrones Conclusion Falls Flat

mm

Published

on

Lovers of the fantasy series Game of Thrones tuned in for the nonsensical ending Sunday night. Much to their dismay, the conclusion to the once well-crafted tale left them with more continuity errors and questions than they bargained for.

Caution: This post contains spoilers for the entire series of Game of Thrones!

Howland Reed, The Grand Maester Conspiracy, The North Remembers, Lady Stoneheart. There were so many neglected arcs in the series that led to the rushed ending fans received last night. Although some still look fondly upon the franchise as one of the most enthralling, culturally captivating shows of all time, it’s memory is forever laced not just with what it included, but with what it altered or flat out ignored.

Originally foreseen by George R.R. Martin as having a Tolkien-esque ending where all loose ends are tied, showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss are being roasted for the botched ending they’ve presented to a longsuffering fanbase. Appearing to have conveniently forgotten the iconic author’s grand plan, D & D stood by as plot lines and character arcs suffered from their deviation. No longer able to contain their frustrations fans have been incredibly vocal with their displeasure. Screaming in a single voice and echoing the cast’s sentiments, the Game of Thrones fandom agrees that this ending is “bullshit”.

The beginning of the series finale focused on Tyrion’s journey to uncover the fate of his siblings and Jon’s journey to convince Daenerys not to be “more of the same.” The Red Keep, thought to be in complete ruin, was still accessible to Tyrion, even as he wandered toward the underbelly of the enormous castle. A torch in hand, he dug through bricks to reach the tunnels where Jamie and Cersei lay. In what would be the first of many “What the f*ck?!” moments of the evening, Tyrion actually discovers the corpses of the star-crossed twins. Viewers watched in disappointment as he managed to stand in an area that should have been clearly collapsed, implying that if the lovers stood a few feet to the right, they might have survived the implosion. A travesty! Yet more cringe would follow as the episode unfolded.

For anxious onlookers who couldn’t wait to see what Sunday would bring, they could feast their eyes upon an accurate leak that described the events. Telegraphing Grey Worm’s descent into heartlessness as he killed enemies of “The Queen”, Jon’s eventual betrayal of Daenerys, and even character endings, it all played out just as the unnamed source said things would. No matter how much we wanted it all to be untrue, there it was in all of it’s ugliness. After 10 long years of production, after 2 long years of wait, Game of Thrones ended with democracy, SIX kingdoms, and Bran The Broken, First of His Name ascending to rule.

The overall reception of the conclusion to the series is a solid “NOPE!”. Viewers and critics have given the episode, titled The Iron Throne, a 57% rating. As social media users continue to share the ways in which the end was unfulfilling for them, book readers are urging them to begin reading the texts. There are still two novels left in the series, giving show watchers access to a true ending and the satisfaction of complete arcs with stunning detail.

Were you disappointed with Season 8? Did you think the series finale was an epic conclusion or did it leave much to be desired?

I wanna see the receipts! Fans Think Porn Star Brittney Jones is the Mother of Trey Songz’ Son

mm

Published

on

Trey Songz has sent fans into a downward spiral after posting a photo of him holding the foot of his newborn son, Noah. Revealing he’s now a father, fans are left with one question — Who is the mammy?

Us too, bruh!

“Blessed and overjoyed” to have finally become a parent, Trey Songz revealed to the world he and his partner welcomed a son. However, the identity of the other party has remained a mystery…potentially until now. Sleuthing fans have speculated that a porn star named Brittney Jones, who was allegedly responsible for the split between Songz and Lori Harvey, is the mother of his child.

Secret Lovers?

In December 2018, Lori Harvey and Trey Songz split after Lori discovered Trey had some “sick and twisted” desires. Forming a wicked love triangle, his urges led him into the DMs and eventually arms of Brittney Jones, an adult entertainment actress. While many were reluctant to believe she and Trey Songz were in any type of relationship, Brittney had one hell of a way of proving detractors wrong — an ultrasound.

Originally posted by herself and then discovered by The Shade Room, Brittney alleged that she and Songz were not only intimate, she was pregnant! The ultrasound wasn’t all she had in her arsenal at the time. Brittney went on to share seemingly unmanipulated video of her accessing her Snapchat, exposing messages between her and Trey Songz from his personal account. She also shared DMs he sent via his verified Twitter account and text messages where she inadvertently exposed his phone number. But things between the adult film star and singer weren’t all love.

The Dates Don’t Line Up

During the lengthy Instagram Live session where Brittney exposed Trey Songz and their relationship, she stated she had to block the singer because he was obsessed with her. In so many words, Brittney said Trey was so impressed by her sexual prowess that he couldn’t fathom not having her. Using every method of contact he could to ensure he didn’t lose her, Brittney stated he just wouldn’t leave her alone. However, her tune changed not long after she exposed Trigga Trey.

Brittney took a moment to explain her actions and reasoned that she lashed out “to hurt him the way he hurt” her. At the time of this madness, Trey was attempting to make amends with Lori but it didn’t workout. However, that hasn’t stopped Lori from celebrating the birth of Trey’s child despite the fact that it means whoever the mother is, was pregnant in August.

When Brittney claimed to be with child, she was only four weeks along at the end of December. So for those who are searching for the mother of Noah, they’ll have to keep looking.

On the TLC Tip: Did Bravo Try to Pass Peaches to Chilli and T-Boz?

mm

Published

on

Would you be interested in seeing T-Boz or Chilli on Real Housewives of Atlanta? According to the TLC members, Bravo has worked hard to convince them to join the series.

While sitting with Entertainment Tonight, T-Boz and Chilli shared they’ve rejected multiple offers to join RHOA over the years. Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins said she had been approached by Bravo reps “four times” and Chilli says she’s shot down casting rumors whenever they emerge.

Having been briefly featured as a guest in an episode with Kandi, T-Boz wants to make it clear she has no aspirations of becoming a regular cast mate. Her sister-in-song agrees. Thinking it would be a bad look for either of them, both ladies say they “have a brand to protect.” When it comes to the content of the series, T-Boz says she simply isn’t the one to try and “there is just no way” she would enter that franchise.

Quick to share why she wouldn’t enjoy being a part of the show, T-Boz stated, “This is the thing, I don’t play like that. Like, I’m not arguing, I’m too old to be arguing, and first of all, I don’t argue with nobody I don’t care about.” Chilli and T-Boz stated they are happy with their music careers and would like to leave it at that.

Do you think T-Boz or Chilli would be a good fit for the show?
