Tekashi’s premature album release will cost someone some major coin. FashionNova, who had a six-figure deal with 69, planned to have their brand mentioned in both the song and video. Now that Tekashi is in custody, the video is scrapped and a different version of the song has hit the streets.

‘Dummy Boy’ was set to contain a different version of the song “MAMA”. A switch up in the mention of brands has screwed FashionNova. At the center of the mix-up is a rumor that Nicki had a hand in the change.

Currently #1 on the charts, MAMA has a lyric that goes, “splish splash Apple Bottoms make that ass phat.” It was supposed to go “splish splash FashionNova make that ass phat.”

The brand was banking on their logo and name being featured in the video. Sounds like a good plan, but now Tekashi can’t deliver and its unclear if he ever will. FashionNova paid up front for the chance.

Prior to his arrest, Tekashi posted a teaser for the track that included the brand’s logo. Once the news of the shooting broke, the production crew took their leave and conversation regarding a reshoot had been sidelined. Fashion Nova felt secure in the state of their deal but tensions may rise with the lyric fiasco.

Who is to blame? People are saying Nicki motivated Tekashi to change the tune after learning that Cardi paired up with the brand for a collaboration. The segment referencing Fashion Nova was deleted and replaced with Apple Bottoms at Nicki’s request.

While Tekashi is in jail, there’s no way to know if they can sort out the lyrics or deal. For now, no one has reached out to what’s left of Tekashi’s team for restitution.

We were waiting to see the Stallion and Cardi and although we got that, we also got something that none of us wanted or were interested in. Every Black person with a brain and no raccoon DNA was on the same page. Keep the culture vultures like Kylie out of the culture

Someone even started a petition to get her removed off the video altogether.

There’s talk that they had to pause the music so Kylie could walk on beat…
