James Charles and Manny MUA Apologize To Alicia Keys for Being in Black People’s Business

If the world were on the brink of race/class revolution and you, a WhiteGay™, had the choice between doing either:

A. Saying Nothing and Remaining Rich and Mediocre

Or

B. Attacking a Black Woman For Working With Elf Cosmetics Because You Feel Like She Doesn’t Deserve Her Success

Which would you choose? Well, James Charles and Manny MUA chose wrong.

“Does anyone else get slightly irritated when celebs come out with entire makeup lines? especially when those celebs don’t even wear makeup… i’m like girl”

Manny MUA, Twitter

I’m sick of people who have no business coming out with makeup brands, coming out with makeup brands.

James Charles, Twitter

So, as you can see, DeWhites have lost their minds over a not-even-released product that, get this, wasn’t even make-up. That’s right folks, the collaboration between Alicia Keys and E.L.F. is for a skincare line. Now, let’s break this down for the dumb folks. Alicia Keys, a woman with skin so impeccable that she never feels the need to wear make-up, is releasing a skincare line. I’m excited. It’s also exactly what I expected when I heard the news about a collaboration. They’ve, of course, since apologized after a Twitter lashing:

There’s still a lot of minimizing and White feminist tactics baked up in there. But the point is, y’all should try Alicia Keys’ new skincare line since E.L.F. is known for affordable product lines.

Nene Leakes Closes Her Store ‘Swagg Boutique’ In Sugarloaf Mills

Nene Leakes’ Swagg Boutique store in Sugarloaf Mills is currently going out of business. There’s a massive sale. Signs are hanging. It doesn’t look good for her.

In March, Bravo reported that she was struggling through the coronavirus pandemic. In an Instagram post, she showed us her store, how empty it was, and told us that she needed help in providing for her employees.

It’s all very sad. Nene is still rich, so she’ll be fine. However, anytime a Black woman puts hard work into something and it bears fruit, it’s something of value. The fact that it’s being stripped from her is unfortunate.

Migos Rapper, Takeoff, Faces Lawsuit Over Alleged Rape

Takeoff is being sued over an alleged rape during a party in Los Angeles. The accuser went to the hospital later that day and performed a rape kit before lawyering up. The case seems pretty open and shut, but now some people weren’t convinced:

The civil lawsuit, filed by a woman identified in the court papers as Jane Doe, alleges that the rapper raped the woman at an LA party on 23 June.

The woman says Takeoff, born Kirshnik Khari Ball, began talking to her at a party at the house of DJ and producer Daryl McPherson and offered her marijuana. After she declined and left the conversation, Takeoff followed her into a bedroom and forcibly raped her, the lawsuit alleges.

The woman went to the hospital to receive medical care that same day, the suit says. The next day, she filed a report with the Los Angeles police department.

via The Guardian

This is to be expected of course, but the reality is that this woman performed a rape kit for a reason, it’s unlikely that she didn’t take pictures of her bruising. There’s evidence. This will be an interesting case to watch.
