Rather than hold himself accountable for being a walking trash bag, Kevin Hart decided to just quit the gig. Last night, the “comedian” decided to resign from his job as Host of the 2019 Oscars.

“Time to Rise to the Occasion”

Kevin Hart started his day elated that The Academy made the choice to extend the hosting opportunity to him. But such a thing was not meant to be, Kevin has since been forced to resign. Tweets from 2009 surfaced once the announcement Kevin Hart would be hosting the event.

With a history of being favored by women and the queer community, many began to question The Academy’s selection. Knowing that this year’s awards could feature many LGBT-themed films, GLAAD reached out. Hart, ABC, which airs the awards, and The Academy all received contact. Committed to protecting how queer people are represented, GLAAD reps hoped to “discuss his rhetoric and record as well as opportunities for positive LGBTQ inclusion.” Their request fell on deaf ears, as all parties remain silent until Hart took to social media Thursday Evening.

Unapologetic Hart

The tweets, that have since been deleted, contained threats and mocking language geared toward perceived queerness. Sharing sentiments we’ve all heard before, and like those shared by Yung Miami of the City Girls, Hart does not want a queer child.

“Yo if my son comes home & try’s 2 play with my daughters doll house I’m going 2 break it over his head & say n my voice ‘stop that’s gay'”

When asked to apologize for these sentiments, Kevin only had this to say:

Stop looking for reasons to be negative…Stop searching for reasons to be angry….I swear I wish you guys could see/feel/understand the mental place that I am in. I am truly happy people….there is nothing that you can do to change that…NOTHING. I work hard on a daily basis to spread positivity to all….with that being said. If u want to search my history or past and anger yourselves with what u find that is fine with me. I’m almost 40 years old and I’m in love with the man that I am becoming. You LIVE and YOU LEARN & YOU GROW & YOU MATURE. I live to Love….Please take your negative energy and put it into something constructive. Please….What’s understood should never have to be said. I LOVE EVERYBODY…..ONCE AGAIN EVERYBODY. If you choose to not believe me then that’s on you….Have a beautiful day

Following the slew of backlash over his homophobic past and present, Kevin resigned saying:

“I have made the choice to step down from hosting this year’s Oscar’s…this is because I do not want to be a distraction on a night that should be celebrated by so many amazing talented artists. I sincerely apologize to the LGBTQ community for my insensitive words from my past.”

Kevin went on to say that he was “sorry that I hurt people” and expressed his desire to host in the future.

We were waiting to see the Stallion and Cardi and although we got that, we also got something that none of us wanted or were interested in. Every Black person with a brain and no raccoon DNA was on the same page. Keep the culture vultures like Kylie out of the culture

Someone even started a petition to get her removed off the video altogether.

There’s talk that they had to pause the music so Kylie could walk on beat…
