“I Don’t Cheat To Win I Rather Lose”, Serena Speaks Out Against US Open Penalities

Yesterday was the final match in the tennis U.S. Open between the Queen of Grand Slams, Serena Williams, and her competitor Naomi Osaka. I’m sure people we’re expecting a fair match between these two black women however the umpire who was watching over the game had something else in mind.

Naomi was giddy to be playing against her Idol Serena in the finals on Saturday as shown with this message to her in a interview where she said, “I Love You.”

Everything was going well during the final match until the umpire issued the first penalty against Serena. Carlos Ramos, the umpire that started the drama, issued Serena a penalty because of what seems like Serena’s coach, Patrick Mouratoglou, was coaching her while he was moving his hands.

Ramos issued the first penalty which immediately infuriated Serena who said to him, “You owe Me an Apology. I have never cheated in my life, I have a daughter for what’s and I stand what’s right for her.”

Here’s more footage of Serena talking to Ramos about how he misinterpreted her coach’s hand gesture as coach Serena to do certain plays against Osaka but he seems to be unfazed from his earlier decision.

Serena tried to explain to the umpire how that she wasn’t cheating and why she didn’t deserve the penalty she was given but Ramos didn’t see the need to remove it from that portion of the match.

Ramos gave Serena her second penalty after she broke her racket on the court out of frustration.

Serena’s final penalty came after Serena was penalized for arguing with the umpire for his previous penalties that she was issued for earlier as a “code violation”.

Serena accused Ramos of stealing a point from her because of the previous penalties she was given which prevented her from scoring a point. It escalated to the point where Serena was talking with the referee about the umpire choice to give her a point was sexist because the men have done much worse than her and often aren’t penalized.

In her argument she said, “There are men out her who do a lot worse than me. But Because I’m a woman you’re going to take this away from me. That is Not Right.”

The finals ended with Naomi Osaka being the first Haitian-Japenese woman to win the US Open and also being the youngest at 20 years old winning the Grand Slam title.

During the Award Ceremony the crowd was booing in disappointment that Serena did not obtain her 24th Grand Slam title 1 year after giving birth to her daughter. However she stopped them from their jeers and wanted them to appreciate Osaka winning her title. Although you could tell from her eyes and facial expressions that she was still shaken up from what happened earlier in the match.

Here’s what Serena had to say after the award Serena was finished in a interview with reporters.

On twitter there were tweets calling out the sexism, misogynoir, and racism that was being perpetrated from some news companies that called Serena’s passionate out burst a meltdown in their news headlines.

Tennis legend Billie Jean King commented on the events that happened calling for the double standards that women have to endure that men usually don’t have to think about.

Billie Jean King has written a in depth analysis piece on her perspective of the match and the double standards and abuse of power that took place during the match.

The drama doesn’t end there because Serena’s outburst with the umpire will cost her a $17,000 fine. There’s a lot of conversations that can be said from what happened yesterday from the Grand Slam Finals but I will finish it off with this.

Congratulations to Naomi Osaka for her 1st Grand Slam victory. And as for Serena Queen of the Grand Slams, Slayer of Sexism, Misogynoir, and Racism you’ll get your chance at a 24th Grand Slam soon.

Pick a Side, Pick a Side: Tekashi 6ix9ine Hired the Sisters who are Suing Cardi B

Tekashi 6ix9ine took Nicki Minaj’s lyrics “pick a side, pick a side” literally for his upcoming music video. The “Gummo” rapper hired the sisters, Jade and Baddie Gi, for his music video featuring Nicki Minaj and Kanye West. According to TMZTekashi flied the sisters out to the shoot and in a video on TMZ, the two are following behind Tekashi at a Beverly Hills location.

Sources say that the sisters were on set while the gunshots fired during the video shoot. The sisters are still going to remain in the music video once production starts rolling again.

What does this say about Nicki and Cardi’s peace treaty? This is obviously shady and while Tekashi is a known troll it’s questionable why she would allow them on the shoot? Is this going to be another chapter in the Nicki Minaj vs Cardi B saga?

Tekashi surrounded by security

Tekashi and Kanye West were at a video shoot in Beverly Hills when shots rang out at 10:25PM

At the stage for the video, a rented $80 million estate,  approximately 8 shots were fired. Although no one was injured, there was damage to the home. At least one bullet destroyed a bedroom window.

Production was halted immediately and Kanye left the scene unscathed. Nicki was supposed to be at the shoot as well but she had not yet made it to the site.

The attack was allegedly a drive-by.

This is the 3rd shooting targeting Tekashi since his post-sentencing celebration. The rapper was charged with the use of a child in a sexual performance. Having only received a sentence of four years probation, it appears someone is unhappy with the judgment.

It is suspected that the shooting could be the result of a beef between Tekashi and YG. The two have been at odds since a video surfaced of Tekashi asking a fan to name a YG song.

Featuring Yo Gotti and Jeremih, Blac Chyna makes her Rap debut and fans are undecided.

When Chyna posted a photo of her in the studio a year ago, we all thought she was just posing for the gram. Let’s be honest. We’ve known Chyna as a staple in hip-hop but never on the opposite end of the mic. After suffering through some of these Soundcloud rappers, it’s hard to be excited about any new music. In interview Chyna did with XXL a year ago, she stated:

“When I do drop my music, I just don’t want it to be like ‘Okay, Chyna’s taking this for granted, she’s not serious about this.’ I want people to know that I am serious about this and I want to show my progression and my growth and whatnot.”

Many thought that maybe after dating so many rappers, Chyna had picked up a bit of their skill. Unfortunately, most of Twitter seems to agree that Chyna’s debut track is not it. Check out her verse below.

I’m not going to lie, she has potential. Her verse is pretty on brand. After all, she is rapping about scamming:

Talk that talk, but when it’s time to pop a band

You hop up here and you shook

Nothing better than them dollars, man

I fuck up more than your retirement

Chyna has tracks in the works with Swae Lee and has producers lined up to collaborate with her. Showing no signs of disappearing anytime soon, this single is not the last we’ll see of her.

Check out the rest of the song here.
